1. Information We Collect

Heirloom Heritage Co. collects personal information that you voluntarily provide when submitting an inquiry or entering into a project engagement. This includes: your name, email address, phone number, family surnames, and the details you share about your family history. For project clients, we may request access to your AncestryDNA account (read-only) or your raw DNA data file.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to: respond to your inquiry, conduct genealogical and archival research as part of your project, produce your heirloom volume, and communicate with you throughout the project. We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond your specific project engagement without your explicit consent.

3. DNA Data — Special Protections

We treat genetic data with the highest level of privacy protection:

  • Explicit written consent is required before we access any DNA account or raw file
  • We request read-only access to AncestryDNA accounts; we never modify your account, tree, or settings
  • Raw DNA files shared with us are permanently deleted from our systems upon project completion
  • We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose genetic data to any third party under any circumstances
  • These protections are contractually binding and included in every engagement agreement

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to fulfill your project (e.g., a printing vendor to produce your bound copies). Any such vendor is contractually prohibited from using your information for any other purpose. We do not share your information with data brokers, advertisers, or any party not directly involved in your project.

5. Portfolio References

With your explicit written consent, we may reference your project in portfolio or marketing materials. We will never identify you, your family members, or the specific content of your book without your explicit permission. Consent to portfolio reference is entirely optional and has no effect on your project or pricing.

6. Data Retention

We retain contact information (name, email) for the duration of our business relationship and as required for tax and legal purposes. Project research files are retained for one year after project completion in case of revision requests, then securely deleted. Raw DNA files are deleted immediately upon project completion.

7. Website Data

This website does not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising technology. Inquiry forms submitted through this website transmit your information directly to us and are not processed by third-party marketing platforms.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us directly. We will respond to all such requests within 14 business days.
